Danone Dumex telah menarik balik produk susu mereka daripada pasaran sebagai langkah berjaga-jaga.Pihak berkuasa New Zeland mengeluarkan amaran tentang "whey protein concentrate" (WPY) dalam keluaran Fonterra kerana disyaki dicemari dengan Clostridium botulinium yang boleh menyebabkan keracunan makanan.

Mamex Explore Step 2 with batch numbers 06093T1, 06123R1, 06213B1, 06213B2.

Bebelac Step 2 with batch numbers 05023R1, 05033R1.

Kuala Lumpur: Danone Dumex Malaysia today recalls limited batches of Dumex Dupro, Mamex Cherish, Mamex Explore, Bebelac Step 1 and 2 upon advisory from Fonterra.

In a statement, Danone Dumex said that they were informed by Fonterra yesterday that one of the ingredients had a potential quality issue and that they might have received supplies which were contaminated.

For this reason, Danone Dumex said they had carried out a precautionary recall in Malaysia.

"Given the new information supplied by Fonterra, we decided to make a precautionary recall on specific batches of the products."

"Consumers should not feed products with these batch numbers to infants."

"We apologise to our customers for any inconvenience or stress caused by this but the safety of our consumers is our paramount concern," it said.

It also advised consumers that they should contact their doctors as a precautionary measure if they had fed their infants with these batches and if their children showed any signs of illness.

The statement said the recall only affected certain batches which were sold in Malaysia and that the recall did not include other batches of the same product and other Danone Dumex products.
